Full Circle – Then & Now
Chuck Clark in his element - from his 1970 illustration of himself hard at work, to the present-day photo of him still doing what he loves.
My Story
"My journey began as a child, painting our basement floor with just water and a brush. By age ten, I was studying oil painting under Master Artist Elaine Journet. After graduating from Trinity-Pawling School, I studied Drawing, Illustration, and Graphic Design at the Phoenix School of Design in New York City. I then served in the U.S. Coast Guard’s Graphic Unit as an Illustrator and Art Director before founding two creative firms — Clark Advertising Graphics, Inc. and Graphic Action, Inc., where I worked as President and Creative Director.
While I’ve done it all, including paintings, small to large-scale sculptures, trophies, drawings, and more — today, I sell high-quality prints of my original paintings and drawings. My work has received several honors, including the John Newington Awards and the Hudson Valley Art Association’s Graphic Award, and I hold patents in the U.S. and Canada.
When the year 2000 arrived, the electronic age took over, and artists everywhere had to adapt to computer graphics. While the tools changed, my goal remained the same: to create art that reflects craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a deep appreciation for both traditional and modern techniques. I hope that’s what people see in my work today."
